Mr Bill Wong assumes the post of the Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Toronto of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government with effect from today (November 17).
Mr Wong joined the Government’s Trade Officer Grade in 1992, before joining the Administrative Service in 2015. He has served in various bureaux and departments, including the HKETOs in Tokyo, Geneva and Washington D.C., and the former Food and Health Bureau. Before taking up the post of the Director of HKETO in Toronto, he was the Principal Assistant Secretary for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau.
“I am honoured to take up this position,” Mr Wong said. “I look forward to working with different sectors to strengthen the ties between Hong Kong and Canada and to promote the unique opportunities that Hong Kong offers.”
HKETO in Toronto is the official representative of the HKSAR Government of the People’s Republic of China in Canada. Since its establishment in 1991, the office has been actively fostering closer economic and trade ties between Hong Kong and Canada.
香港駐多倫多經濟貿易辦事處新任處長履新
王國彪由今日（十一月十七日）起出任香港特別行政區政府（香港特區政府）駐多倫多經濟貿易辦事處（經貿處）處長一職。
王國彪於一九九二年加入政府貿易主任職系，二○一五年轉職政務職系。他先後於多個政策局及部門工作，包括香港駐東京、日內瓦和華盛頓的經貿處，以及前食物及衞生局。他出任香港駐多倫多經貿處處長一職前，擔任商務及經濟發展局首席助理秘書長。
王國彪說：「我很榮幸擔任這個職位，並期待與各界合作，進一步加強香港與加拿大之間的聯繫，以及推廣香港的獨特機遇。」
香港駐多倫多經貿處是中華人民共和國香港特區政府於加拿大的官方代表，自一九九一年成立以來，一直致力促進香港及加拿大的經貿往來。
