The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (HKETO) hosted a sharing session today (July 17) for summer interns from universities in Hong Kong who are on attachment to local academic or community organisations in the Greater Toronto Area.
Director of HKETO, Ms Emily Mo, met with the students and briefly introduced to them that role of HKETO in Canada. As the official representative of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in Canada, HKETO promotes Hong Kong and Canada trade relation by closely liaising with the Canadian government and the local business communities.
Ms Mo moved on to elaborate on HKETO’s efforts in enhancing closer exchanges between Hong Kong and Canada in different aspects as well as the latest developments of Hong Kong-Canada relations. She encouraged the students to make the most of their internship in Canada to broaden their perspectives, which would be useful to their future career development.
The summer interns continued to share their experience in Canada and what they had learnt from the internship. They all agreed that overseas internship had helped broaden their horizons and better equipped them for future employment.
Before the sharing session ended, Ms Mo took the opportunity to thank the host organisations for receiving the students from Hong Kong and pictured with the students in front of the HKETO building.
