Posted in: Press Releases

January 25, 2019

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (HKETO) hosted a gathering with Hong Kong students studying at different universities in Toronto on January 25.

Director of the HKETO Ms Emily Mo welcomed the students and introduced to them the role of HKETO.  Ms Mo spoke on the latest developments of the Hong Kong-Canada relations and the office’s work in fostering closer relations between the two places on various fronts.

Ms Mo said that as Asia’s world city, Hong Kong offers a plethora of opportunities for talents from different sectors.  The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has launched various admission schemes to attract talents from all over the world to develop their careers and settle in Hong Kong.  She encouraged the students to return to Hong Kong after completion of their studies in Canada and asked them to encourage their peers to consider pursuing careers in Hong Kong as well. About 40 students joined the gathering.
