Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto), Ms Emily Mo, visited the Richard Charles Lee Canada-Hong Kong Library of the University of Toronto on January 29 to learn about its operation.
Established in 2008, the library is the largest research collection for Hong Kong and Canada-Hong Kong studies outside of Hong Kong, housing 71 000 volumes, including 2 500 periodical titles, 1 000 reels of microfilm, 7 000 newspaper clippings and an expanding collection of audio and visual materials.
Ms Mo is glad to learn that the library’s resourceful collections offer a wide variety of materials for members of the public in Toronto and visitors to understand more about Hong Kong. In addition, the library hosts Hong Kong-themed academic seminars throughout the year to enhance meaningful exchanges between Hong Kong and Canada on different aspects.
