HKETO organises a gathering with university students from Hong Kong in Toronto - 2018

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (HKETO) hosted a gathering with Hong Kong students studying at different universities in Toronto on February 16.

In her welcoming remarks, Director of the HKETO Miss Kathy Chan gave a brief introduction of the role of HKETO and the office’s mission in fostering exchanges between Hong Kong and Canada. She also spoke on the latest developments of the Hong Kong-Canada relations and the close human ties between the two places.

Miss Chan told the students that Hong Kong is a place full of opportunities and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has introduced various measures to attract and facilitate talents from all over the world to work and live in Hong Kong. Apart from encouraging the students to return to Hong Kong after completion of their studies in Canada, she asked them to encourage their peers to consider pursuing careers in Hong Kong too. Canadian students can also make use of the working holiday scheme to have a taste of living and working in Hong Kong.

As it was the first day of the Lunar New Year, Miss Chan took the opportunity to wish the students a fruitful and prosperous Year of the Dog. About 40 students joined the gathering.

香港經貿處與在多倫多就讀的香港大學生聚會

香港駐多倫多經濟貿易辦事處(香港經貿處)於二月十六日與在多倫多不同大學就讀的香港留學生舉行聚會。

香港經貿處處長陳納思致歡迎辭時,介紹香港經貿處的角色及在促進港加交流方面的工作。她亦向學生講述香港和加拿大雙邊關係的最新發展,包括兩地緊密的人脈連繫。

陳納思向出席的學生表示,香港機會處處,香港特別行政區政府為吸引世界各地的人才到香港工作和生活推出了各項措施。陳納思鼓勵同學於加拿大完成學業後回港發展事業,並鼓勵他們的朋輩考慮到香港發展。加拿大的學生也可先透過「工作假期計劃」赴港體驗一下在香港生活和工作的情況。

今日是農曆年大年初一,陳納思藉此恭祝所有學生狗年萬事勝意,學業進步。接近四十位學生出席今日的聚會。
