Hong Kong/Canada Working Holiday Scheme to increase quota for 2016

In view of the enthusiastic response to the Hong Kong/Canada Working Holiday Scheme (WHS), the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has agreed with the Canadian Government to increase the 2016 quota under the scheme from 200 to 300 on a one-off basis.

HKETO supports the promotion of Cantonese opera in Canada

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (HKETO) is pleased to support the Cantonese opera 'Monkey King' performance brought about by the Starlight Chinese Opera Performing Arts Centre and Hong Kong's Young Academy Cantonese Opera Troupe in Toronto in September. HKETO is a major sponsor of the performance.

HKETO organises sharing session for summer interns from Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (HKETO) hosted a sharing session today (July 14) for summer interns from universities in Hong Kong who are on attachment to local academic/community organisations in Toronto. Acting Director of the HKETO Mr Nick Choi gave a brief introduction of the office's operation and the latest development of the Hong Kong-Canada relations. The students also shared their experience in Canada.

New-look BrandHK website

Brand Hong Kong today (July 6) launched a new-look website: www.brandhk.gov.hk. The revamped site has a more contemporary look and uses a responsive web design to ensure a much improved viewing experience on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. The site provides information on a variety of subjects - from how to do business, trade, study or travel in Hong Kong to photos, stories and videos on the many different aspects of Asia's world city.

Hong Kong to serve as strategic partner of Canadian enterprises under Belt and Road Initiative

Hong Kong can facilitate overseas businesses, including Canadian enterprises, as they step out of their geographical boundaries and venture into the vast Belt and Road market, said the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, at the gala dinner of the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association National Conference in Calgary, Canada on June 3 (Calgary time).
