Appointment of Principal Officials announced

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, announced today (January 16) that the Central People's Government (CPG) had approved the resignation of Mrs Carrie Lam as Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the resignation of Mr John C Tsang as Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The CPG also approved the Chief Executive's recommendation to appoint Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung as Chief Secretary for Administration and Mr Paul Chan as Financial Secretary.

InvestHK reveals highlights of upcoming StartmeupHK Festival

Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) today (January 4) revealed some of the key highlights to watch out for during the upcoming 2017 StartmeupHK Festival, which covers retail technology, fashion technology, smart city, fintech and digital health, with more than 80 speakers who will be involved in panel sessions, interactive discussions, competitions and speaking events.

Hong Kong Team achieves outstanding results at International Junior Science Olympiad

A team of six Hong Kong secondary students achieved excellent results in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2016, being awarded third place in the Experimental Competition and winning a total of one gold and five silver individual prizes.

International study shows Hong Kong students' continued outstanding performance in reading, mathematical and scientific literacy

The Education Bureau (EDB) today (December 6) said it was pleased to learn that Hong Kong students have performed very well in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2015 and maintained their outstanding achievements.

CS unveils details of preparatory work for HKSAR 20th anniversary celebrations

The Chief Secretary for Administration (CS), Mrs Carrie Lam, unveiled at a press conference today (December 2) details of the preparatory work commenced early this year for celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Chaired by the CS, an inter-departmental Steering Committee on the 20th Anniversary was also set up.
